We bring the museum to you in a series of lively and informative programs led by trained and engaging teaching artists and educators.
PreK Programs
In 45 minute sessions, your students would be invited to paint like Eric Carle or Leo Lionni, or participate in dance and movement, or learn lessons about the five senses or nutrition while preparing a healthy snack. As appropriate, the program supports PreK scope and sequence themes such as plants, light, water and includes background information about relevant artists and art forms as well as supplies and other resource materials.
Elementary School Programs
Subjects include mask making, collage, printmaking, 3-D design, dance, theater, cooking & nutrition, leadership and much more. We can customize a program to your curriculum.
As an example, please view: Video of moments from our recent dance residency at PS 29
These in-school programs run for the length of a class period during the school day (available for multiple classes) or for 45 minutes in after-school programs.
Our educators ask questions that inspire critical thinking and ensure hands-on activities and opportunities for active and creative response. Classes are designed to celebrate different learning styles and differentiate for age, group, and learning needs. We offer interdisciplinary exploration through science, language arts, social studies, and visual and performing arts.
Each program supports the NYC Department of Education’s Standards for Arts Learning, New York City Scope and Sequence, Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts and Common Core Standards.
We can help you look for funding and grant opportunities to work with us.
